My Guitar

Playing the guitar...............

.......it's not always as easy as it looks.

This is me and my old guitar playing around with 'Summertime'.
The sound quality is what you'd expect from a camera.
I might develop and record this properly some(er)time.

21st January 2011 - and here it is...but not on my old guitar.
Summertime

Properly recorded, on a different tune, it can sound like this...and this was on my old guitar.
Minor Swing

This is my arrangement of Django Reinhardt's "Minor Swing"  featuring lead, rhythm and bass, recorded by me sometime in the late 1990s, but much, much earlier by him.

Or like this, with 'plectrum plus fingerpicking', rhythm and bass.
Misty
This is my guitar arrangement of the classic Errol Garner piano instrumental of 1954 which was featured in the title of the 1971 Clint Eastwood movie "Play Misty for me".

Or like this with electric lead, acoustic fingerpicking, bass, drums and horns.
Autumn Leaves
Originally this was a 1945 French song "Les feuilles mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves") with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques PrĂ©vert.
The American songwriter Johnny Mercer wrote English lyrics in 1947.
The film Autumn Leaves (1956) starring Joan Crawford featured the song, as sung by Nat King Cole over the title sequence.
Autumn Leaves became a pop standard and a jazz standard in both languages, both as an instrumental and with a singer.

This is my instrumental version of the tune, deliberately slow to reflect the mood of the song lyrics, starting with an almost angry electric guitar before reverting to mellow horns, the solid drums changing almost imperceptibly into the sound of a heartbeat as the tune draws to a close.
